Relaxing and Purifying: A rich, deep, sweet and woody fragrance. The essential oil is antiseptic, insecticidal, and sedative. According to mythology, sandalwood originally grew only in heaven's gardens and thus, in some cultures it is associated with the cleansing of sins. In aromatherapy it is used to induce a calm and meditative state by sedating the nervous system, subduing nervousness and anxiety.
